C0110 C0xxx · Chassis (C) High severity
ABS Pump Motor Circuit Malfunction
The ABS hydraulic pump motor does not run or draws wrong current. The system cannot build pressure for ABS or stability intervention.
Severity guidance: High — stop driving and diagnose now; risk of further damage
Symptoms you will notice
- ABS lamp on
- No ABS pulsation in an emergency stop
- Possible braking warning lamp
Common causes
Ordered from most to least likely — start at the top.
- 1 Failed pump motor
- 2 Seized hydraulic modulator
- 3 Blown high-current fuse or failed relay
- 4 Corroded connector at the modulator
How to diagnose it
Cheapest and least invasive first — most of these codes are not a parts problem.
- ✓ Check the high-current ABS fuses and relay first.
- ✓ Run the pump with a bidirectional tool and listen for operation.
- ✓ Measure current draw and supply voltage at the modulator connector while commanded.
- ✓ Inspect the connector for corrosion and overheating.
Repair options
- Replace the ABS modulator/pump assembly
- Repair the power supply or earth
- Replace the relay or fuse
C0110 — frequently asked questions
Do brakes still work? +
Base braking remains, but without ABS and often without stability control. Treat it as urgent.
Can I repair just the motor? +
Most manufacturers supply the modulator as a complete unit. Check whether the motor is separately available for your model.
