C1100 C0xxx · Chassis (C) High severity
Chassis Control Module Power / Internal Fault
Generic chassis module fault. As with every internal-fault code, rule out supply, earth and water before replacing anything.
Severity guidance: High — stop driving and diagnose now; risk of further damage
Symptoms you will notice
- ABS/ESP warnings
- Multiple chassis codes
- Possible loss of braking assistance features
Common causes
Ordered from most to least likely — start at the top.
- 1 Supply voltage out of range
- 2 Poor earth
- 3 Water ingress
- 4 Internal failure
How to diagnose it
Cheapest and least invasive first — most of these codes are not a parts problem.
- ✓ Measure supply and earth at the module under load.
- ✓ Load-test the battery and check charging voltage.
- ✓ Inspect for water or corrosion at the connector.
- ✓ Only replace the module after all of the above pass.
Repair options
- Repair the supply or earth
- Replace the battery if weak
- Replace the module as a last resort
C1100 — frequently asked questions
Why do so many codes appear together? +
Shared power or earth. Fix the supply and most of them clear in one go.
Can a weak battery really disable ABS? +
Yes. ABS modules are voltage-sensitive and will shut down functions below threshold.
