Engine Overheat Condition
Coolant temperature exceeded the protective threshold. The ECU often cuts fuel or disables cylinders to protect the engine — take this seriously.

- Temperature gauge in the red
- Steam from the bonnet
- Loss of power
- Coolant loss with no visible leak

- 1 Low coolant
- 2 Failed thermostat stuck closed
- 3 Cooling fan not running
- 4 Water pump failure
- 5 Blocked radiator or head gasket failure
如何排查
先做花钱最少、侵入最小的检查——大多数这类码不是零件问题。
- ✓ Stop the engine and let it cool before opening anything.
- ✓ Check coolant level and look for external leaks.
- ✓ Verify the fan runs when commanded by the scan tool.
- ✓ Pressure-test the cooling system and test for combustion gas in the coolant (head gasket).

- Repair the leak and refill
- Replace the thermostat, pump or fan assembly
- Head gasket repair if combustion gas is present

If coolant disappears with no external leak and you smell sweet exhaust, yes. Do a block test before any major repair.
