Steering Angle Sensor / Transfer Case Range Fault

The steering angle signal is missing, out of range or not learned. Stability control and electric power steering assistance depend on it.

Indication de gravité : Élevée — arrêtez de rouler et diagnostiquez maintenant ; risque de dommages supplémentaires

Symptômes que vous remarquerez

  • ESP lamp on
  • Steering assist inconsistent
  • Lane-keeping and ADAS functions disabled
  • Vehicle pulls assistance strategy into default

Causes fréquentes

Classées du plus au moins probable — commencez en haut.

  1. 1 Steering angle sensor not calibrated
  2. 2 Clock spring failure
  3. 3 CAN data fault from the sensor
  4. 4 Steering work without recalibration

Comment le diagnostiquer

Le moins cher et le moins invasif d'abord — la plupart de ces codes ne sont pas un problème de pièces.

  1. ✓ Check whether the steering or suspension was recently worked on — recalibration is then the likely fix.
  2. ✓ Read live steering angle and turn lock-to-lock to check the sweep.
  3. ✓ Perform the manufacturer's zero-point calibration.
  4. ✓ Inspect the clock spring if the signal drops intermittently.

Options de réparation

  • Perform steering angle sensor calibration
  • Replace the clock spring
  • Repair the CAN wiring

C0200 — questions fréquentes

Why does it appear after a wheel alignment? +

The sensor's zero point no longer matches straight-ahead. Recalibrate after any steering or alignment work.

Does ADAS stop working too? +

Yes — lane-keeping and camera-based functions rely on a valid steering angle signal.
