System Too Rich (Bank 1)
Fuel trims have gone strongly negative — the ECU is pulling fuel to compensate for too much of it. The engine is running rich, not lean.

- 2 Excessively high fuel pressure (stuck pressure regulator or failing pump control)
- 3 Contaminated MAF reading high
- 4 Purge valve stuck open flooding the intake with fuel vapour
- 5 Restricted air filter or intake
如何排查
先做花钱最少、侵入最小的检查——大多数这类码不是零件问题。
- ✓ Read short-term and long-term fuel trim: strongly negative means the ECU is removing fuel.
- ✓ Check fuel pressure against specification and watch for pressure dropping after shut-down (leaking injector).
- ✓ Inspect the EVAP purge valve for a stuck-open condition.
- ✓ Compare MAF reading with calculated load.
- ✓ Smoke-test the intake only after ruling out the fuel side.

- Clean or replace injectors
- Repair the fuel pressure fault
- Replace the EVAP purge valve
- Replace the MAF if it over-reads

Is rich or lean worse for the engine? +
Rich washes oil off cylinder walls and overheats the catalyst; lean causes knock and burnt valves. Both need fixing, rich is usually cheaper.
Why is the code bank-specific? +
Bank 1 is the side containing cylinder 1. A single-sided fault points to injectors, an exhaust leak or an O2 sensor on that bank.
