Idle Control System RPM Higher Than Expected
The engine idles above the target speed and the ECU cannot bring it down. Either extra air is getting in, or the throttle is not closing as commanded.

Comment le diagnostiquer
Le moins cher et le moins invasif d'abord — la plupart de ces codes ne sont pas un problème de pièces.
- ✓ Check for unmetered air with a smoke test — this is the fastest route.
- ✓ Inspect and clean the throttle body bore and plate edges.
- ✓ Watch the commanded vs actual throttle position in live data.
- ✓ Confirm the throttle learns correctly after cleaning (relearn procedure).

Why did it start after I cleaned the throttle? +
Cleaning removes the carbon the ECU had adapted to. Run the throttle relearn so the plate position matches the new airflow.
Is a high idle harmful? +
It wastes fuel and makes gear engagement harsh. Over time it also wears the driveline.
