P0133 P0xxx · Propulsión (P) Gravedad baja
O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
The sensor still switches, but too slowly to control mixture properly. A classic ageing symptom — the sensor is tired, not dead.
Indicación de gravedad: Baja: normalmente sin impacto en la conducción, resuélvalo en la próxima revisión
Síntomas que notará
- Slightly high fuel consumption
- Failed emissions test
- No obvious drivability complaint
Causas habituales
Ordenadas de más a menos probable: empiece por arriba.
- 1 Ageing or contaminated oxygen sensor
- 2 Silicate poisoning from coolant or sealant
- 3 Carbon fouling from rich running
- 4 Exhaust leak near the sensor
Cómo diagnosticarlo
Primero lo más barato y menos invasivo: la mayoría de estos códigos no son un problema de piezas.
- ✓ Measure switch frequency in live data; below roughly 0.5 Hz at 2,500 rpm is too slow.
- ✓ Inspect for contamination: white/grey deposits mean coolant, black soot means rich running.
- ✓ Fix any underlying rich fault before fitting the new sensor.
Opciones de reparación
- Replace the upstream oxygen sensor
- Repair the root cause of contamination first
P0133 — preguntas frecuentes
How long do O2 sensors last? +
Typically 100,000–160,000 km. Slow response is the usual first sign of ageing.
Do I need the OEM part? +
For the upstream sensor, yes — cheap universals often switch too slowly and set this code again.
